[EA REVIEW] Hobbit EA v7

Image
Yes, I can hear you. "another martingale? are you kidding me?!" Trust me, I'm not. The chances are you are more likely to succesfully learn to trade manually by yourself than to find a money making EA not using martingale or hedging. That's how hard it is to find a good EA worth to review. Anyway, back to Hobbit. Its an EA using martingale, but with some settings you can use it to great effect of simple hedging and martingale. This review is about the V7 of the EA.  Entry Logic  I'm not able to find out how it places the entry as I don't have the source code. But based on my testing, it places martingale entries in one direction at each tick. i.e. Buy, buy and buy with multiplier until it hits the TP. What makes it more favourable is the placing of TP. At only 10pips, it hits TP quite fast and considerably reduces the risk that comes with multiple entries.  Hedging Not much of an hedging to be honest. This is a setting shared with me by one

[EA Backtest] Budak Ubat v1.27

Image
This is the backtest result of EA Budak Ubat v1.27. Date range used was 1 year (Feb 2016 to March 2017).  Setting used as below.  Lot size : 0.01 Equity : 10,000USD / 10,000cent(equivalent to 100USD) Multiplier Setting : Safe (x1.2) Profit : 7,895 USD / 7,895cent (equivalent to 78.95USD) 80%  Max DD : 50.70% (can be reduced with human intervention) Well, looking at the result above only reinstates my opinion earlier that while this EA has good potential to generate profits, human intervention is crucial to keep the risk in control. Once I have enough resources, I will do the forward test probably with Demo account to see how much impact does it have with human intervention. Have a look at my review on this EA earlier. [EA Review] Budak Ubat v1.27 Forward Test result will be posted here once it is done. Click Here (Link not active) Verdict : Minimum of 100USD recommended by the developer may not be enough after all. Either increase the equity  or increas

[EA REVIEW] Budak Ubat v1.27

Budak Ubat (BU) v1.27 is a martingale based EA from a Malaysian based trader/ developer. Just like any other EA using martingale technique, this EA places and entry, if it hits the TP, bag the profit. But if it don't, then the next entry multiplies based on setting. EA Logic This EA is interesting as it is not placing random entries, rather it is riding on market movement (RSI > 50). If the market moved the opposite direction after the first entry, next entry is compounded by multiplier. e.g. Multiplier x1.2 1st entry : 0.02 2nd entry : 0.02 3rd entry : 0.03 4th entry : 0.04 TP level is adjusted accordingly and the entries are always closed with overall profit. Multiplier setting Insane = x2 Very high risk = x1.7 High risk = x1.6 Medium risk = x1.5 Low risk = x1.4 Very low risk = x1.3 Safe = x1.2 Review Risk Multiplier : Don't be fooled by the name. Anything other than Safe is dangerous! Remember, we're not here to gamble. Rather we're here

And It all starts

Image
It all starts somewhere, either you see some of your friend's friends making hundreds in forex, or you saw some attractive banner in internet ad, or facebook, or one of those annoying pop up ads. And let me guess what happened next. You had some financial needs yourself. You started imagining earning the kind of money advertised. You started dreaming owning the expensive things you always wanted.  You opened a demo account and started trading.  Not bad, you made some decent amount of money in demo. Only problem is, its not real money. So you can't withdraw the "profits". So you opened a real account, and listening to some bogus/ half baked advise, you deposited $100 or even more. You started trading small, you made some and you lost some.  And the small you lost was kinda annoying, so you open bigger entries in the hope of recovering your balance.  After the euphoria is over, now you realise the deep shit you got yourself into. Your entire account is almos
